Description

Pecorino is a native grape variety rediscovered and re-planted 30 years ago in central Italy, most notably in our province of Ascoli Piceno. This 2014 is a special wine from a year most noteworthy for its very dry and hot August and September. The heady perfumes of peach and tropical fruits are your first indication this is a special wine. It is very well balanced and complex and matches up well with white meats or can be enjoyed on its own.

vineyard: 3.7 acres at 130 meters above sea level
vine training: single cordon
fermentation: 7 hour maceration before pressing and temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks
aging: 8 months in stainless steel tanks followed by bottling
